Dr. Ken Oates and Dr. Tom Norris

Drs. Tom Norris and Ken Oates provide an overview of first aid, medical emergencies and preventative safety measures for cruising on private sail and power boats in the Salish Sea and beyond.  Dr. Norris is a retired family physician, medical educator, past commodore of the Anacortes Yacht Club and a power boater.  Dr. Oates is a retired orthopedic surgeon, journal editor, Anacortes Yacht Club member and a sailor.  The talk is based both on their experiences treating people who have had medical issues while boating and on their own boating experiences as well as basic first aid principles.
