Walt Guterbock is a retired large animal veterinarian. After 15 years in exclusive dairy cow practice and academia he became a dairy farm manager and owner in Michigan and Oregon. He and his wife Susan have lived in Anacortes since 2012 .He is an active sailor and rower. In addition to his work with AWA, he is active in the Fidalgo Island Rotary Club and its projects in Skagit County and internationally, especially in rural development and education projects in Honduras. He is also involved in a company that is helping farmers on small dairies in the developing world to produce quality milk and command a better price for their product. He is deeply committed to the mission of AWA to increase opportunities for community access to the water, to expose people to the pleasures of sailing, rowing, and paddling, and to provide training and educational opportunities for boaters at all levels.
